Sunsational Swim School – 2 Lessons & Roxy is Swimming!!

Roxy has had 2 lessons with Melinda from Sunsational Swim School and we are absolutely thrilled with the results! Roxy is swimming! For the second lesson Melinda continued having Roxy practice floating, and her arm movements, and kicks. Then she continued having Roxy swim to her from the steps to one side of the pool. Although it wasn’t a long distance, Roxy definitely seemed to be gaining confidence. She is able to put her face in the water without fear. She puts her head up to breathe and isn’t breathing to the side yet, but I can say without a doubt that my baby girl is swimming.
One thing we noticed about Sunsational Swim School is that the techniques they teach the kids really seem to stick. After Melinda left we went on a vacation to Kauai and Roxy really got a chance to practice her swimming. Kenny and I have her take off her puddle jumper floatie when we’re around and we have her swim from one person to the other. Roxy seems to do best when she has someone to “send” her and someone to “catch” her. But Roxy doesn’t forget the techniques or get scared again, even when Melinda isn’t around. If Roxy stops in the water, all we have to say to her is, “Swim, kick, kick, kick!” and she continues.
Only yesterday, we witnessed Roxy swimming the entire length of our pool! The proof is in the pudding folks! But take it from me, Sunsational Swim School works! Again, 2 lessons and Roxy is swimming! JAX APPROVED!! Thank you so much to Sunsational Swim School and to Melinda Zhang!
